1394 Trade Association Announces New Sets of 1394-Compliant Products from Leading Companies Worldwide

An impressive set of new products has been certified as 1394-compliant by the Trade Association since late spring. 

Texas Instruments led the effort with four newly compliant products including their PC17612 Silicon PCI Card Bus Controller; TSB43AB23 Silicon 1394a PHY Link OHCI Host Adapter; XIO2213 Silicon OHCI Host Adapter; and the XIO2200 Silicon PCIe to 1394a OHCI Host

LSI Inc. also has four compliant products, including the
Sunix FW643 PCI Express 1394b Host Adapter; FW 843 1394b External HDD;  FW 843-07 1394B External HDD; and FW 533 Evaluation Board Host Adapter.

Also now registered as compliant is Product GL9720 - a PCIe 1394a Host from Genesys Logic, Inc.

Other newly-compliant products include the OZ711MP1 A1 Evaluation Host Adapter from O2 Micro; the JMB381B PCI + IEEE1394a Host Controller and JMB353 1394A + USB2.0 Combo to SATA II Bridge Controller from JMicron Technology; and, from Ricoh Corporation, the  R5C833 IEEE1394/Memory Card bridge Controller.

1394 Interoperability Workshop Set for Q4 Meeting in Taipei

The 1394 Trade Association will hold interoperability sessions at the end of the fourth quarter general meeting in Taipei. They are scheduled for
October 30 at Allion Test Labs, and the event is provided at no cost to attendees. Private sessions can be scheduled with LSI and Texas Instruments, with other companies to offer sessions also. Participants are welcome to bring devices to be evaluated in the private sessions as well as with Allion who will be running the 1394 base test suite.
