Trade Association Issues New Technical Article on 1394 in Security Cameras
A new technical backgrounder is ready from the 1394 Trade Association, entitled “FireWire Maximizes Value in Security Camera Designs.” Sourced and co-authored by TA Vice Chair Dimitrios Staikos, the new backgrounder describes all the benefits of 1394 for security camera developers, including its high bandwidth, flexible topology, networking monitoring capabilities, and isochronous transport. All are vital capabilities for developers of advanced cameras as they transition to all-digital systems. The article also compares FireWire to Ethernet in these designs, and notes that it is easy to develop an IP-based security camera that uses 1394 as its network. “FireWire Maximizes Security Camera Designs” is being published by EE Times on its Industrial Control Design Line website and on the Trade Association site.
